Delivering Expectations

Hippo Motor Group Ltd is one of the North West’s most progressive companies, offering an unrivaled range of vehicles (business/personal) for purchase or lease. Success lies in the DNA.

The award-winning firm was established by Thomas and Richard Preston, part of a well-known Lancashire family which started out as coal merchants in 1906. The Prestons changed direction to enter the motor trade in 1960 and went on secure partnerships and franchises with some of the world’s top manufacturers including Land Rover, BMW and Mini.

Now the company is again racing forward with real pace. Hippo Leasing stands proud among the leaders in the UK market – catering for both sole traders and multi-vehicle fleets, while Hippo Prestige offers the most desirable performance prestige cars (new and almost new), including Aston Martin, Bentley and Ferrari.

Currently looking to expand its headquarters through the purchase of more land, Hippo Motor Group employs no fewer than 20 dedicated sales staff, an in-house marketing team and eight full-time delivery drivers.

We were tasked to install a full fire and security system at the prestigious new headquarters of Hippo Motor Group on Trident Park in Blackburn, to include CCTV and the provision of an on-going maintenance and service contract.

Alert had previously fitted a fire and security system at the company’s former premises on the Network 65 retail park in Burnley

Mark Khan, general manager at Hippo Motor Group, said: “We strive to do everything the best we can and, as a consequence of that, we expect high levels from all our suppliers too. Security is a big issue – we can carry up to £3m in stock – and systems clearly need to be strong on efficiency and reliability.

“Our previous dealings with Alert had been good, but the pressure was really on for our move to new premises, not just in terms of installation but also with regard to back-up. We needed to know that if and when anything went wrong, no matter how small, we could expect service without delay. To be fair, problems have been minimal and the staff at Alert have proved helpful and available.

“Alert’s recent move to further improve customer relations by recruiting Lindsey Robinson (account manager) has helped strengthen the partnership between us. Lindsey is very pro-active, always striving to keep us happy.”
